Frequently Asked Questions

We have answers for you!

Does San Diego Markets operate all farmers’ markets in San Diego?

San Diego Markets currently oversees only the farmers’ markets listed on our site, and provides consulting support to a few others. Other markets each have their own managers.

Can I bring my pet to the market?

CalCode guidelines prohibit pets at farmers’ markets. We never restrict legitimate service animals, of course.

Can I use my credit or debit card at the market?

Nowadays, most farmers and vendors accept credit, debit and sometimes contactless cards. If using cash, please bring small bills so you can pay exact change if possible.

Can I use my EBT/SNAP benefits at the farmers’ markets?

Yes, the Little Italy Mercato farmers’ market is proud to accept CalFresh/SNAP EBT payments for eligible items on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Check in at the bright yellow Welcome Booth on India & Date Street to swipe your card, and ask about Market Match.

Our Chula Vista Sunday Farmers’ Market is in the process and should be able to accept EBT soon!

Is there parking at your farmers’ markets?

Our markets are operated in urban San Diego neighborhoods with metered and unmetered parking, and paid lots and garages available nearby. The Little Italy market is one block from the County Center/Little Italy trolley stop. There are MTS bus stops on Third Avenue less than a block from the downtown Chula Vista Market

It’s raining in my neighborhood - will the market be open?

San Diego Markets farmers’ markets operate rain or shine, just like grocery stores. You still have to eat!

I am looking for a specific vendor but they are not listed on the “current vendors” page. Where can I find them?

We’re regularly adding new vendors. Feel free to ask one of our staff members at the Welcome Booth or email connect@sandiegomarkets.com with inquiries about specific farmers or vendors.

How do I become a San Diego Markets’ farmers’ market vendor?
